My Journey to Jerusalem

CLICK HERE TO “TAKE ME TO THE NEXT LEVEL”

The other day, when I was somewhere on the East Coast, about to do a speaking engagement, I thought about setting goals. What if one of my goals – whether I’m a history buff, or a very religious person – what if one of my goals was to visit Jerusalem.

Let’s say that was one of my goals. And let’s say that I could just snap my fingers and suddenly be there? That’s exactly what I did that morning, just to see what might happen.

Shortly thereafter I found myself in Jerusalem. But, wait a minute. I was born in Israel. The Jerusalem I found myself in that day didn’t look like the Jerusalem I was used to.

The Jerusalem I was used to had a lot of historical and religious sites. Many of the buildings in the city were built out of the golden stone that is found in the nearby quarries. That’s what the real Jerusalem in Israel looks like. I was born there. I know.

But where was I? Wait a minute. I found myself in Jerusalem, Rhode Island. A beautiful fishing village in the southern edge of the state named Jerusalem.

Now what was wrong with my goal that day? I said I wanted to go to Jerusalem. But I wasn’t specific enough. I didn’t say which one. I didn’t realize that there was more than one. But there are.

Isn’t this a lesson about life? We set goals but we’re not specific. People say, “I want to be rich. I want to have a nice home.” They don’t write down specific details about the goal and then they get whatever the universe throws at them.

So, if you have a goal, write it down in specific details and you could end up at the right location as opposed to the wrong one. I did get to Jerusalem that day, but not the one I was looking for.

I want to make sure you get to the one you’re looking for.

I hope to see you Wednesday morning on Lifetime Television on The Balancing Act, 7-8 a.m. Easter and Pacific time. For speaking events, I can be reached at 619-723-3007.

You are special. You are unique. You are destined for greatness. You are a Champion!

How’s Your Discipline

Between recent speaking events in Delaware and Maryland, I took some time to stop by the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis. The town of Annapolis, on Chesapeake Bay, is a quaint and beautiful community.

It is not only the State Capitol of Maryland, but also the home of the Naval Academy. Established in 1845, this is the second oldest military academy in the United States, only second after West Point.

I’ve known a number of people who attended Annapolis and established themselves with enviable records in the military.

One thing I learned from the graduates of Annapolis, as I’m sure is the case at other military academies, is that at Annapolis they teach discipline. Because, without discipline, you cannot have a military force and you cannot have order.

The same thing applies in our own personal lives. If we don’t have discipline, then our life is in disarray.

So, this message is about establishing some discipline in various areas of our lives.

If you don’t have enough discipline when it comes to money, something simple that you can do is lower your standard of living a little bit, save that money, and pay off some debts. Also, pay in cash. That establishes some discipline when it comes to money.

Concerning your health, I know that the cadets at Annapolis keep in great shape because they exercise regularly. I don’t like exercising any more than you do, but having had a heart condition in the past I realize that it’s important.

So, whether I like it or not, I do a treadmill two or three times a week for 30 minutes to keep in shape. That is my form of discipline when it comes to exercise.

If it’s discipline in your relationship that you need to improve, take the time to go out and spend special time on a regular basis with someone special in your life. Whether it’s Date Night or whatever you may choose to do regularly, establish some discipline and make that relationship important to you.

If it’s a career discipline you need to improve, then look at what you’re doing in your life and look for ways to improve wherever you are or look for other ways to establish a new career.

I believe that you’re now establishing some very important discipline in your life because you are special, you are unique, you are destined for greatness. I see it in you – you are a Champion!

Have a powerful day!

Are You Programming Yourself For Success

On a recent speaking trip to Rochester, New York, I had an opportunity to visit the George Eastman House. Yes, the George Eastman who created Kodak – the films, the cameras and so much more.

Just a few miles south of downtown Rochester is a beautiful house, where he lived, which has been turned into a museum.

The reason I’m talking about George Eastman is the following: I believe that, when he created his company, and developed certain unique processes for developing film, creating the Instamatic camera, and so forth, I believe he programmed his brain, his mind, for success.

And that’s why he achieved such worldwide acclaim.

But, too many people, and I’ve been as guilty of it in the past as anyone, are programming their minds for failure. Whenever we go around saying things that don’t help us, we’re programming our minds for failure.

Examples: “I can’t get any breaks. I can’t get my health to be in good shape. I can’t get ahead with money. I can’t get out of debt. I can’t start a business of my own.”

Those are all thoughts that go into the brain and program us for failure. Then, when we see any indication to prove one of those thoughts, we say, “Look, I told you that I never get any breaks.” And that is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

So, no matter where you are in life right now, no matter what your condition is with you health, your finances, or your relationships, you have the power to change those things for the better by starting to declare what you want and stopping to declare what you don’t want.

It’s like putting good software into your computer. You’re going to get good results. Bad software ends up in bad results.

If you think that you have been saying things to yourself that keep you from moving ahead, and thus programming your mind for failure, let’s turn those thoughts around.

It’s just a matter of turning certain thoughts around. If you want to get out of debt, just write an affirmation that says, “It’s easy for me to get out of debt.”

If you want to save money, “It’s easy for me to save money.” Want to create a great relationship? “I create great relationships in my life.” If it’s business, “I’m able to succeed in business.”

Just read those affirmations the first thing every morning and the last thing every night. Don’t analyze them. Just read them out loud. Give me at least 30 days of you programming your mind for success and I believe you’ll be amazed.

Incredible things happen when we program our minds in the right direction. And I think you’re going to be doing that right now. And, like George Eastman, I believe you’ll be amazed with what develops!

You are special. You are unique. You are destined for greatness. I see it in you. You are a Champion!

Since children are barraged by so much negative each day, wouldn’t it be valuable to give them a diet of positive thoughts? That’s what my new daily CD for children, The “30 Day Can Do Program for Kids,” does.

This is a great self-image-building program for children, 4 to 12 years of age. Each of the 2-minute daily messages is uplifting, encouraging, and the results are very positive.

As a bonus to the CD, you will get the “Can Do Workbook”, a great e-book supplementary teaching tool to the audio messages.

The “Can Do Program for Kids” CD is available, with the bonus e-book, for just $29, at the Boaz Power Store on my web site: Boazpower.com.

How You Can Create a Brand New Idea

I was in Irvine, California a few weeks ago to conduct a seminar for a great group of CEO’s.

It was at that meeting that I met Ken LaCroix. His company is called Moveri. It is a fairly new company and therein is the message for this newsletter.

A couple of years ago Ken was the Chief Financial Officer for a company in the Irvine area. He then had the bright idea of creating his own company where he would offer his services as a CFO for hire, on a temporary basis.

As I have often discussed in this column, all of us have the ability to literally re-invent ourselves. We can find new directions for our careers; we can create new jobs; we can create new companies.

Ken, thinking outside the box, decided to use his extensive experience to help many different companies by coming in and working as a temporary CFO. He basically had the guts to listen to his inner voice and he changed his life for the better.

Ken, backed by his 20 years of experience working as a CFO for different companies, quit his job and started the Moveri Company.

He started calling on local companies in the Irvine area and proposed that he would work for them as a CFO not just for an entire month, but for one or two days at a time.

As Ken relates, “That resonated with those CEO’s who had the need for a Chief Financial Officer but couldn’t afford a full-time one. As I talked to more and more CEO’s, I found that there was a true need for this type of service.”

Ken is a great example of looking around, finding a need, and filling it. We all have the ability to be very creative. Some people open up their minds and they come up with great new ideas.

As Ken exemplifies, it’s not what the economy is doing; it’s not what the government is doing; it’s not what the weather is doing that’s important. What’s important is what’s going on in our minds.

When it comes to the current economic challenges, Ken further related, “I’m convinced that I couldn’t do what I’m doing today if it was two or three years ago.

People then would have said that everything is fine, sounds like a great concept, but I don’t need it. Now, everyone I meet relates that they know they need to get better at their business and they need what I have.”

There is no big secret as to why Ken’s new company has become successful. He told me that he talked to a lot of people about his concept. He talked to a lot of people. What a simple idea.

You can learn more about Ken and his services by going to his web site: Moverigroup.com.

As I relate to my audiences nationwide, we all have more power in our brains than any computer man could ever create. Isn’t it time that we opened up our minds to great possibilities?

How You Can Get the Taste of Sweet Success

On a recent trip to do a seminar in Bend, Oregon, I learned why one local company there is continuing to have great success, no matter what the economy is doing.

The company is American Licorice and they seem to know how to get the taste of sweet success.

It was at their corporate headquarters in Bend that I interviewed Sue Jones. She is the company’s Director of Human Relations. Their licorice, in the famous large red jar, is sold nationwide along with many other sweet products.

She related that the company was founded in Chicago in 1914. Corporate headquarters was eventually moved to Bend. The company, with about 400 employees, has manufacturing facilities in Indiana and in California.

The Red Vines Licorice, in that distinctive red jar, is one of the company’s national brands. There’s also their tasty Sour Punch product and there’s a new product called Natural Vines, an all-natural licorice.

I asked Sue why the company has continued to be so successful, despite the current economy. Her answer was simple: “We’re really focusing on our consumer. We’re in the business of providing happy consumer experiences.”

She further related that the company had spent the past few years developing their business strategy, focusing on building up their consumer strategy, learning who their consumers are, and what they’re looking for from the company’s products.

This concept, of putting themselves in the customer’s shoes, has helped American Licorice to continue to succeed. That’s exactly what Dale Carnegie, in the book “How to Win Friends and Influence People”, suggested. He said, “Put yourself in the other persons shoes and look at things from their perspective.”

“We have a very passionate and loyal following,” related Sue, “and we’re actually in the process of doing a national drawing contest by our consumers. They really love our product.” Numerous drawings from that contest were up in the hallways of the company’s headquarters.

So, there you have it. It’s not a big secret as to why some businesses struggle while others prosper.

At American Licorice they’re constantly getting involved with the ultimate customer, wanting to make sure that they have a happy consumer experience.

What can you and I do today to put ourselves in other people’s shoes and look at things from their perspective.

Perhaps we, too, could get more of the taste of sweet success.

Voice Of Determination – How To Achieve Your Goals – Start A Business

By Boaz · Comments (0)
Monday, March 22nd, 2010

As part of the launch of Boaz Power TV, the video version of my written newsletter, I decided to hire an announcer to open and close this new weekly program. When I met Ed Cowden, a Los Angeles voiceover artist, I knew instantly that he was the perfect choice. In Ed I found the perfect combination of a great voice and a wonderful personality.

As is true in the world of acting, becoming a successful full-time voiceover artist is very challenging. Ed has accomplished that feat.  Thus, I decided to interview him and to find out what he did to become successful in a very competitive field. We met the other day in a Los Angeles recording studio.

I learned that Ed is originally from a suburb of Boston. When he was growing up he wanted to become a lawyer. However, in high school he began to act and sing in school productions. Ed eventually studied law for two years before he realized that being an attorney was not what he really wanted to do with his life. It was not his dream.

Even though everyone around him thought he was crazy, Ed stopped going to law school in 1999 and started going to acting classes. He moved to Philadelphia, began getting acting parts in local stage and television productions, and got good reviews. Like many other people, Ed followed his dream to be an actor by moving to Los Angeles in 2003. He took acting classes in Hollywood and began to make contacts with people in the industry.

Determined to become successful, Ed did whatever it took to keep working in the industry of his dreams. In order to make extra money, he often worked as a stand-in for television shows. In talking with Ed, I quickly realized that he exemplifies something important that Napoleon Hill expressed in the book “Think and Grow Rich”. That point is: Definiteness of purpose. It means focusing strongly on a definite goal and not being willing to accept anything less.

Ed committed totally to his dream and burned his bridges behind him. He feels that “playing it secure” means people only give half an effort. He was willing to give it all for his dream. Ed eventually discovered that he really liked doing voice-over work as opposed to acting. He would practice for two hours each day, seven days a week, before he would go on many auditions. Persistence eventually paid off and he started getting voice-over jobs on a regular basis.

“I did whatever needed to be done, whether I felt like it or not,” related Ed. He further stated that he worked on his attitude every day to make sure that he kept focused on his dream. Ed’s persistence paid off. He has now done national radio campaigns, has voiced various video games, and he does many narrations for industrial and instructional videos.

Thus, Ed is yet another example of why some people succeed at achieving their dreams and many do not: Definiteness of purpose, persistent effort, and a great attitude. To me, Ed Cowden is indeed the voice of determination. If you wish to hire him to be the voice of a commercial or a corporate project, just send me an e-mail and I’ll get you in contact with Ed.

Response continues to be very good to the new “30 Day Can Do Program for Kids” CD. The short daily messages will instill in children certain positive thoughts that will help them become more confident, more caring, more respectful, and more successful. Here are some of the daily topics: Being a good student, being a good sport, the value of reading, setting goals, getting things done, confidence, and determination.

This is recommended for children 4 to 12. As a bonus to the CD, you will be e-mailed the “Can Do Workbook”, a great e-book supplementary teaching tool to the audio messages.

If you would like to order this exciting new CD, which has a 6-month money-back guarantee, simply send a check for $29 to me at the following address:

Boaz Rauchwerger
14431 Ventura Blvd., #249
Sherman Oaks, CA 91423

Be sure to include your e-mail address so we can send the bonus e-book.

This will also make a great gift for grandchildren, nieces and nephews, children of friends, or any other child that could benefit from a highly-productive, self-image-building program that will positively affect their lives.
