Focus on one goal and take action if you really want to achieve great things in life. Thus, we need to set goals from a higher point! It’s a matter of perspective.
When I was in St. Louis for speaking events, I noticed a unique structure in the Compton Hill area just west of downtown. The picture above is of the historic Compton Hill Water Tower, adjacent to the Compton water reservoir. The Tower is on the National Register of Historic Places and is significant for both its architecture and engineering.
Built in 1899 at a higher elevation point in St. Louis, the tower is 179 feet high. It is a standpipe design that is encased in an architectural tower and a critical part of the city’s nearby water system. Today the tower is open for tours. Visitors climb 198 steps to get a great view of the city.
We can all achieve our most important goals if we focus on one important goal and place it at the top of the list.
Like the Compton Water Reservoir in St. Louis, we all have a reservoir of energy. Thus, we need to focus that energy! Focus on one goal and take action!
Identify, on paper, your one most important goal for the next 12 months. Break that goal down to what simple steps you could take in the next 30 days and then in the next 7 days. Then take one important step today and another tomorrow. You might see things differently!
“I’ve identified my one most important goal and I’m taking daily steps to achieve that goal!”
